Family group present in the Lake Hotel, Virginia, on Saturday last to celebrate the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Smith, Cloughbally, Mullagh. Front row ( l. to r. ) - Mrs. E. Declan Coyle, Dungimmon House, Mountnugent,( just returned from Canada and is now going to the Philippines), who earlier in the day celebrated Mass in the jubilarians' home. Back row ( l. to r. ) - Mrs. P. J. Farrelly, Virginia; Mrs. S. Osborne, London; Mrs. P. Sugrue, Florida, U. S. A. ; Miss. Rose Smith; Mrs. P. Tynan, London; Paddy, ( London ), Kevin ( Cloughbally ), Jimmy and Peadar ( London ). Present at the celebrations were Miss. B. Daly, Mullagh; Mrs. B. Monaghan, ( Cloughbally ); Mr. P. Daly, do, who were guests at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in St. Killan's Church, Mullagh on Nov 22, 1922. The eleven surviving members of the Smith family of twelve were present. During the celebrations a song, " The Golden Jubilee," was specially composed for the occasion and rendered by Mrs. O'Dwyer ( daughter ), November 1972, issue 7596.
