Cavan's second annual International Song Festival ended its enormously successful three - day run in the Sports Centre, Cavan, on Wednesday night with a remarkable double triumph for American - born Thom Moore. Thom won the Premier Award, the Cavan Crystal Bowl and 1,000 with his song ' Baton Rouge ', sung by Janie Cribbs, and also came out on top in Section B ( songs about Co. Cavan ), sponsored by John and Angela Clancy, the Derragarra Inn, Butlersbridge, with his entry " Cavan Girl ", which he sang himself.
