Dinner party

Where: Hotel Kilmore, Cavan

When: Sunday, December 2, 1pm

What: Ballyhaise/Castletara Social Club Christmas dinner party. Tickets on sale in Ballyhaise Post Office until today (Wednesday, November 28). All are welcome and the club would like to thank all those who made last weekend's fundraiser a great success.

Switch on!

Where: Killeshandra resource centre

When: Sunday, December 2, 5pm

What: The official switch on of the Christmas Lights with carol singing and a glass of mulled wine and mince pies to warm the heart.

Fancy dress fundraiser

Where: Seven Horse Shoes, Belturbet

When: Friday, November 30

What: The Cavan branch of Cystic Fibrosis is hosting a fancy dress night (men - blues brothers; ladies - soul sisters). Music by John O'Grady and his band. This promises to be a great night's fun so please support.

'The Story of the Titanic'

Where: Granard Community Centre

When: Friday, November 30, 8.30pm

What: Abbeylara parish presents 'The Story of the Titanic' in narration, song, music and dance performed by Mullahoran Drama Variety Group. It includes comedy sketches of The Dail and Mrs Browne and mime acts of stars such as Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Elvis etc. There will be a raffle and refreshments on the night and proceeds will go to Abbeylara Parish Centre. Everyone welcome.

Poker fundraiser

Where: Crow's Nest, Ballyconnell

When: Friday, November 30, 9pm.

What: Fundraising poker classic in aid of Kildallan GAA Club.

What: Comhaltas Beal Tairbirt's annual bazaar. Wheel begins to spin at 8.30pm. Prizes Galore. Everyone Welcome.

Cake sale

Where: Kildallon Parish Hall

When: Sunday, December 2, after 10am mass

What: Kayleigh McCaffrey and Orla Ward - both transition year students in Loreto College - are taking part in a World Challenge 2014 and need to raise vital funds in order to participate. Please show you support on the day. Refreshments served.

Craft fair

Where: Mullahoran Parochial Hall

When: Saturday, December 1, 11am-4pm

What: The local lady footballers are having a craft and gift fare in Mullahoran. Anyone interested in setting up a stand/stall contact Pat on 087 249 1118.

Social night

Where: Kilian Lodge Hotel, Mullagh

When: Saturday, December 1, 8.30pm

What: Mullagh Cuchulainns is hosting a social night to celebrate and mark the success of the club 25 years ago in winning both a Minor League and Intermediate Championship. Finger food, live music by 'Who's Who' and free Admission. Everybody welcome.

'For Club and County'

Where: Ballinagh Hall

When: Saturday, December 1, 8.30pm

What: The hilarious play by Seamus O'Rourke will have one of its last performances in this region in Ballinagh Hall in aid of Gowna GFC. This very funny and witty play has been packing venues all across the country and getting great reviews. €10.

What: Ballinaglera GAA Annual Dinner Dance, meal at 8.30pm. Music by Francie Smith and Kevin Logue. Tickets €25. Tickets for afters also available for €10.

Home Rule talk

Where: Protestant Hall, Drum

When: Saturday, December 1, 7pm

What: A talk by the renowned political historian Dr Eamon Phoenix, Stranmillis University College on the impact of the Third Home Rule Bill in County Monaghan, from the Ulster Covenant to Partition. Refreshments served. All welcome.

Ladies fundraising night out

What: An array of makeup, jewellery, handbags, accessories etc - solve your Christmas gift shopping - fundraiser for CSPCA.

Variety concert

When: Thursday, Friday (November 29 and 30), 8.30pm sharp

What: A concert in aid of Kill NS will. Come along for a great night of song, dance, comedy and laughter.

The Red Cross quiz

Where: Bailie Hotel, Bailieborough

When: Friday, November 30, 9pm

What: The annual Bailieborough Red Cross Quiz. Table of four €40. Enjoy a fun night. Top prize €100. All welcome.

Christmas fair

Where: Wesleyan Chapel, Bailieborough
