Denise Quinn

Three's Company at the Ramor Theatre this Friday evening, February 5, will see three one-act plays featuring Denise Quinn and presented by TooDog Theatre Company.

The plays will be Annie Wobbler by Arnold Wesker, Winsome Webster by Joanna Murray-Smith and Lucy Bastible by Denise Quinn.

Three plays

Annie Wobbler from the pen of prolific British playwright Arnold Wesker, a key figure in twentieth century drama, features the title character Annie, a char lady of uncertain years who works for her living in London's East End 'doing' for people. As she confides in 'Madam' we are given a glimpse into Annie's past, and the losses which have shaped her life.

Winsome Webster, from award-winning Australian playwright Joanna Murray-Smith's Bombshells, centres on sixty-four year old widowed Winsome, whose hum-drum life is filled with dull every-day pursuits with her widowed friends. Winsome longs for the unexpected, and the day it arrives on her door-step is one which she and you will never forget!

Lucy Bastible written by Denise Quinn gives us a formidable woman in the character Lucy. A woman of firm opinions, Lucy believes her class and connections guarantee her place in society. She demonstrates that the wages of sin can be very heavy indeed, especially when she is the party more sinned against than sinning!

Denise Quinn, the founder of TooDog Theatre Company, is a native of County Waterford who has a Diploma in Drama And Theatre Studies from NUI Maynooth and a Masters degree in Drama And Performance Studies from UCD.

• Performance starts at 8.30pm and admission is €18 or €16. For bookings or more information, contact the Ramor Theatre, Virginia at 049-8547074.
