Timeless Dickens tale gets makeover by Cavan actor

Aaron Monaghan takes on A Christmas Carol at the Gonzo theatre, on December 15-17.
Respected Cavan actor Aaron Monaghan returns home for a new take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, one of three productions being performed in the Gonzo over three shows next week. The Celt's Damian McCarney caught up with Aaron ahead of the show and found out what he brings to the classic tale and the ghosts that keep him awake at night.
Anglo-Celt: How have you reinterpretted this Dickens classic tale?
Aaron Monaghan: We've lifted the text straight from Dickens' pages, edited it down, added one or two tiny bits, and then set ourselves the task of performing it on stage in under an hour, with as little props etc as possible, and with only two actors. We're presenting it as a storytelling piece, with some physicality thrown in for good measure.
