Ava fundraiser

Where: Hideout Bar, Bailieboro

When: Friday night, December 14

What: Shave and Slave Night in aid of Ava Kellett. Amongst those going under the blades is Ava's mother, Muriel, who is having her entire head shaved, and Thomas Smith from Tunnyduff will be having his 'tache shaved off after 20+ years of grooming it. There wil also be a slave auction on the night where people can bid for a slave for a day.

Inter Church Carol Service.

Where: St Naile's Church, Kinawley

When: Thursday, December 13, 8pm

What: Inter Church Carol Service. Everyone welcome. Refreshments served.

Evening of Christmas Music

Where: St Brigid's Church, Mountnugent

When: Sunday, December 16, 8pm

What: Blanshardstown Brass Band with special guest singers Jenny McCabe and James Knight present 'An evening of Christmas Music'. Proceeds to Mountnugent/Ballinacree Cemetery Fund. Admission by ticket only €10 from Mary 087 9427 040, Tommy 086 6503 257.

Christmas craft fair

Where: St. Paul's Church of Ireland, Ballymachugh

When: December 15 at 3pm

What: A Christmas Craft Fair in aid of church funds in St. Paul's. A huge variety of seasonal arts and crafts on offer from cakes to reindeer and from bird houses to jams and preserves. All welcome.

Santa on the way

Where: Kilnaleck Community Hall

What: Santa Claus arrives for a party from 3-5pm. Admission €5.

Car Boot Sale

Where: Church of Ireland, Killinkere

When: Saturday, December 15

What: Monthly car boot sale takes place in Church of Ireland grounds.

Vinennese Christmas

Where: Cavan Presbyterian Church

When: Saturday, December 15, 8pm

What: Vinennese Christmas with the amazing violin virtuoso, Vladimir Jablokov (Slovakia and now living in Ireland), joined by his entire Jablokov Family Orchestra in Cavan Presbyterian Church (opposite Town Hall Street, on Farnham Street) in Cavan Town. A Wonderful Presentation of the Christmas Gospel Narrative through music, solos, choirs, readings, message and kind hospitality. Interval and supper included. Arva Community Dinner

Where: Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva

When: Wednesday, December 12

What: Community Christmas Dinner. Meal served at 7.45pm; €5 admission. Mike Beasley will provide the music later on while Santa and his helper will be in attendance. Come along and enjoy a good night's entertainment and fun.

What: Christmas Party Evening for all service users. Also announcing winners of local school art competition. Food and music provided and all welcome.

What: Annual children Christmas party. Santa will arrive in the village at 4pm.

Christmas Fair

What: Cross Community Christmas Fair on in after 10am Mass until 1pm. Local sourced baking and crafts will be available. Tea/coffee/mulled wine and mince pies can be purchased. Carol Singing and a Raffle.

What: Home baking, jewellery, knitting, flowers and gifts, pictures and cards, bric-a-brac, teas and coffees.

Ballroom Dancing

Where: Errigal House Hotel Cootehill

When: Wednesday, December 19

What: Cootehill Ballroom dancing committee are putting on the annual Christmas party, with festive spirit and cheers, dancing to the strains of one of the leading bands 'LimeLite'. Come along and enjoy the last dance of December. Wishing all our dancers a Happy Christmas and new Year and thanks for all their support.

Open Boat Rally

Where: Belturbet

What: Fundraising for Temple Street Childrens Hospital. Launching from Ducking Stool Jetty, Belturbet, at 10.30am. Boating to Quivvy waters and back to Ducking Stool for BBQ. All boaters welcome to come along.

Presentation of Medals

What: Drumlane GAC have World Handball Champion Paul Brady presenting medals to their victorious Minor and U16 boys teams and Ladies U16 team.
