County SFC final re-fixed

The 2012 Cavan SFC final has been re-fixed for a second time and will now take place on Sunday week (September 30), with a 1.45pm throw-in.

The final was originally pencilled in for that date but was re-fixed for October 7 in order not to clash with the All Ireland SHC final replay.

However, in order to allow Mullahoran footballer - and top handballer - Paul Brady to prepare for the World Handball Championships which begin on October 9, the board have decided that the match will go ahead as originally planned but with an earlier throw-in.

The Management Committee made the decision unanimously.

In an email circulated to the clubs, Tommy McGibney of the CCC stated:

"This game will now take place in Kingspan Breffni Park at 1.45pm on Sunday 30 September 2012 and will be preceded by a curtain raiser fixture. In the event of a draw, the replay will take place on Sunday 7 October at a time to be confirmed.

"The decision to reschedule the County Senior Final has been taken in order to facilitate the current World Champion Handballer and Mullahoran footballer Paul Brady who is scheduled to compete in the World Handball Championships in Dublin next month."

The Hotel Kilmore Intermediate Championship final will now take place in Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday 7 October , with the JFC decider down for decision the following Sunday.
