Mulvey returns to Butlersbridge fold

Lorcan Mulvey has returned to home club Butlersbridge and will be available for selection for the ACFL Division 2/3 play-off against Bailieborough Shamrocks this Saturday evening.

And sources in the Bailieborough club have expressed annoyance at the fact that the match, originally pencilled in for a fortnight ago, was re-fixed. The club picked up a number of injuries in their Division 3 league final against Ballymachugh and are annoyed that their promotion hopes - which team manager Jimmy O'Reilly told this week's Anglo-Celt are more important than the league title itself - may now have suffered on the double.

Mulvey's transfer from Fulham Irish - with whom he won a London SFC last season - went through on October 23. His return will be a huge boost to Mickey Fitzpatrick's team as they seek to hold on to their intermediate status for 2013.

Midfielder Mulvey has represented Cavan at all levels and could come into the reckoning for a place in Terry Hyland's county senior panel for next season.
