A goal from Denn's Ben Conaty eight minutes from time helped St Pat's win the Rannafast Cup (U16 and a half) for the seventh time in the competition's 75-year history last Friday evening in Emyvale against Omagh CBS.

Before a decent crowd, St Pat's trailed by 1-4 to 0-1 after seven minutes and by 2-9 to 2-4 with eigth minutes remainign but points from defenders Cian McManus and James Veale and a stunning goal from Conaty drew them level before the Cavan school finished brilliantly.

Points from Pierce Smith, Mattie McKenna, Ryan Connolly and a fisted goal from McManus saw the Cavan lads - coached by Finbar O'Reilly, Andy McGovern, Gerry Gunn and Fr Kevin Fay - run out 4-10 to 2-10 winners.
