Cavan advance to JFC final with win over Scotland

Cavan 1-17
Scotland 0-6

Mullahoran's Enda O'Reilly kicked 1-5 as Cavan eased to a comfortable win over a combined Scotland team in Edinburgh to reach the county's first All-Ireland JFC final since 1962.

A Cavan side stacked with Ulster U21 medallists were in control from the outset. Captain Packie Leddy opened the scoring for Terry Hyland's side a few seconds in and further scores from Enda Hessin, Paul Smith and O'Reilly helped them into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead after 15 minutes.

Cavan led by 0-10 to 0-2 at half-time and broke through for the goal that killed off the contest early in the second half when O'Reilly reacted quickest after Scotland keeper Martin Hannah saved smartly from Chris Conroy.
