All-Ireland U-16 cross-country success for Clodagh and
DECEMBER witnessed a fantastic finish to a successful year for athletes from Annalee AC. First up was brother, Cian O`Reilly who took second place to Shane Quinn from Waterford in the Under 16 All-Ireland Championship held in the Curragh. Cian was the top Ulster finisher and this result merited him selection on the provincial team to take part in the Celtic Nations Cross-Country match in Edinburgh on Saturday next January 12th.
Younger sister Clodagh showed her fast improving form when she took on a field of over 150 runners in the Under 11 Cross Country Championship, held on a very cold day in Dungarvan. On her first outing in her age group at an All-Ireland event Clodagh showed her determination when she took the lead with 400 meters to go and saw off all challengers to hold her lead to the finish line. With a lead of ten meters Clodagh was a comfortable winner and a first Annalee All-Ireland Champion in cross- country.
