With the break in club competitions ending last weekend it was back to action in the senior, intermediate and junior football leagues with one game in hurling with the staging of the hurling shield semi-final between Monaghan Harps and Truagh. That game took place last Thursday evening with Monaghan Harps winning by six points to book their place in the final against Latton this weekend. In the Credit Unions senior football league there were victories for Carrickmacross over Doohamlet, Magheracloone over Inniskeen, Tyholland over Monaghan Harps, Clontibret over Scotstown and Latton over Castleblayney.

In the intermediate football league Eire Og defeated Emyvale, Rockcorry held out for a two point victory over Donaghmoyne, Ballybay had two points to spare over Aughnamullen, Corduff are fast becoming Truagh"s bogey team with a two points victory in Corduff and Cremartin edged past Sean McDermotts by a single point. In the junior football league Currin plundered two points against Clones in St. Tiarnach"s Park, Killeevan had a comprehensive victory away against Oram, Aghabog were convincing winners against Killanny and Toome came out best in their local derby against Blackhill.
