Armagh 3-11 Cavan 1-16

Armagh qualified to meet Meath in the Fitzsimons Cup final with a narrow victory over Cavan at Pairc Tailteann, Navan last night.

The high-scoring game was packed with plenty of quality scores as Cavan took a 0-9 to 1-4 interval lead to the dressing room.

Armagh made a number of changes at half-time and managed an early second-half goal.

The teams traded point-for-point subsequently, but Cavan almost snatched a late winning goal when Ray Galligan's shot in added time skimmed the top of the Armagh crossbar.

Cavan will have another outing next week when they tackle Louth in the third-fourth place play-off at the same venue, 5.30.
