Leaguers and castlerahan through to senior semifinals

The first two SFC semi-finalists have been confirmed after Castlerahan and surprise packages Killeshandra saw off Ramor United and Lacken Celtic respectively in this weekend's quarter-finals.

The Leaguers, who had earlier recorded impressive wins over Castlerahan and Cootehill Celtic, turned in a power-packed performance against the disappointing Celts, talisman Declan McKiernan playing a key role as Damien Keaney's side advanced to their first-ever SFC semi with five points to spare on Saturday evening.

Castlerahan, meanwhile, were simply brilliant as they swept aside a very poor Ramor at Kingspan Breffni Park tonight (Sunday).

Under Knockbride clubman Michael Reilly, they set up to counter-attack and with Cian Mackey awesome at the tip of an attacking triangle including Enda Flanagan and the fleet-footed Oisín O'Connell, they raced into a 2-9 to 0-3 half-time lead, Mackey supplying both goals.

And in the JFC, both Cornafean and Templeport impressed in comfortably seeing off Kill and Montnugent in the semi-finals to set up a mouthwatering decider.
