Magnificent round shoots Leona back into contention

Ballyconnell star Leona Maguire bounced back with a fantastic round in the Women's Golf at the Olympic Games today in Rio.

Maguire again opened with a birdie and while she carded a couple of bogeys, a tremendous run around the turn and a nerveless 10-feet putt on the 18th saw her card a six-under 65.

Having shot three-over on a jittery opening day, Leona, whose sister Lisa is caddying for her, now proudly sits just inside the top 20 ahead of 'moving day' tomorrow.

The dream is alive!
