Thrilling draw by top teams

Cavan Garda 0 Barney Macs 0

In what must go down as one of the games of the League so far this game ended in a draw, a fair result for both teams who will definitely be in the shake up for honours at the end of the season.

The game started at furious pace with no team letting up, led up front was Garda John Donohoe who piled on the pressure and was unlucky not to get a goal.

It was a game definitely of two halves with Gardai controlling the first half with some furious shots again by Donohoe and Andrew McGuill, and Niall Sweeney. Daragh McCarthy in the Mac"s goals brought off tremendous saves to keep them in the game.

In the second half Mac"s led the way. David Finnegan and Declan Beard up front had a number of shots but Martin Cassidy in Garda goals was in top form with outstanding saves.

Gary Helferty, Seamus Callaghan, Gerry McGee controlled the back line for the Garda side, never giving a inch. David Greene also played his heart out. Mac"s were well served also by Michael Dunne and Paul Galligan, who covered every blade of grass with his runs.

Again Mac"s kept a clean sheet and have not conceded a goal. David Finnegan is way out in front with nine goals.

Garda Cavan: Martin Cassidy, Niall Sweeney (Capt.) John Donoghue, David Greene, Seamus Callaghan, Gerry McGee, Gary Helferty, Andrew McQuill, Declan Moran.

Barney Mac"s: Daragh McCarthy, Paul Galligan, Michael Dunne, David Finnegan, Conor Brady, Paul Mullen, Killian McBride, Declan Beard.
