The two loves of Gabriel Foley

What: Three-act Irish Comedy performed by The Acorn Players and written by Jimmy Keary. Exceptionally funny play and has been touring Ireland for a number of months.

Music session

What: Aughakillymaude Historical Society, near Derrylin, host usual monthly music session.

Brain & Brawn
Where: The Keepers Arms, Bawnboy
When: Saturday, March 1, 10pm
What: 12 teams battle it out for the champion “Brain & Brawn”, Mental, Physical and Emotional Challenges. A unique night’s entertainment while supporting Corlough & Swanlinbar GAA Dancers Aisling Doonan and Breffni McKiernan. Get your name on a team by contacting Adrian McGovern or Thomas Doonan before Friday night.

Rock 'n’ Roll Bingo
Where: Feehan’s Lounge, Corlough

What: Ray McCaffrey with Brendan Brennan and Joey Smith brings Rock 'n’ Roll bingo to Corlough. Fundraiser for Ray and Rina Bannon to gain points towards their “Not so strictly come dancing” campaign. Cash prizes and fun guaranteed.

John Joe Maguire Memorial Weekend

What: Swanlinbar CCE John Joe Maguire Memorial Weekend. On Friday, February 28 Concert in St Mary’s Hall at 8.30pm with 'At First Light’ and invited guests. This highly acclaimed trad and celtic folk group consists of John McSherry on Uileann Pipes, Donal O’Connor fiddle, Michael McCague bouzaki and Ciara McCrickard a native of Co Down vocals and fiddle. Limited Tickets €12/£10.

What: This charity night will be hosted to raise funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. There will be a raffle on the night with all proceeds going to the cause.

Drama festival
Where: Kiltyclougher community centre
When: Saturday, March 1, to Saturday, March 14

Nashville Star

What: Bailieboro’ Parish Church presents in concert (deated) Nashville Star, Dee Reilly, Young Male Vocalist of the Year, Jason McGilligan, with backing by The Hot Country Band. Doors open 7.30pm; show commences 8.30pm. Tickets €15 available from Hotel Bailie.

Photo exhibition
Where: Cavan County Museum
When: Thursday, February 27
What: 'A History of Cavan Town and its People’ by Michael Swords and JJ O’Reilly in association with 'Townspeople’ an exhibition of photographs by Dermot Walsh. Viewing of exhibition from 7pm and lecture at 8pm.
