Grassland Association meeting focuses on managing finances
How to manage your current cash flow, options on restructuring existing debt and considerations when planning your financial future are among the topics that will be addressed by Peter Young (Irish Farmers Journal) and Willie Fahy (CEO of IFAC) on Friday, November 6 in the Lakeside Manor Hotel, Virginia (10.45am-1pm). The meeting is being organised by the Irish Grassland Association (IGA) and is free to all. From working closely with farmers both speakers have gained insights to the financial status of many farming business and the management skills that can be invaluable when directing a business through leaner times. Both have co-authored a financial planning booklet that has been well received in the agri-industry. Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions in an open forum or on a private basis with regional IFAC advisors. The regional meetings are a new venture for the IGA under its president Andrew Cromie (ICBF). It is a non-profit association working to promote the benefits of efficient grassland utilisation in animal production systems, and currently working to strengthen its relationship with farmers. The IGA is known for its conferences and farm walks that address technical developments in dairy, beef and sheep farming, and the regional meetings aim to address appropriate issues for farming communities.
