Sexton exits Town Council after 17 years
Following 17 and a half years as a member since he was first elected in 1994 when he topped the poll as a newcomer, Fianna Fáil's Paddy Sexton has retired from Cavan Town Council. "I have decided that I wish to pursue other activities in my life. I have returned to full time education and I am enjoying that new challenge," Cllr Sexton told fellow members on Monday, which he announced will be his last meeting. He is studying Culture and Heritage Studies in Cavan Institute. Full story in this week's Anglo-Celt.
