Susan Berminghan (née Drumm)

4 Beechmount, Belturbet, Cavan

Peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband George and her brothers, Anthony and Jim. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, son, David, daughter, Tina, brother, Sean, sisters, Josie, Anna, Carmel and Eileen, daughter-in-law, Julie, son-in-law, Rowen, grandchildren Hayley, Daniel, Carl and Mathew, her seven great grandchildren, brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May She Rest in Peace.

Remains will be reposing at her residence on Tuesday from 4pm until 10pm with removal on Wednesday morning at 11:30am to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Staghall for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Thomas Joseph Connell

Belturbet, Cavan

Thomas J "Joe" Connell, 61, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ surrounded by his family. Formally of Milltown, Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland, Joe immigrated to the United States in 1984.

He was a valued employee of Notre Dame High School for many years prior to retiring from the Mercer County Park Commision in 2017.

Joe was a founding member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 10 and lived his life by the motto of friendship, unity and Christian charity. He was a member of the Tir Na Nog Pipeband for 34 years where he proudly played the bass drum.

Joe was a devoted husband to his wife, Maggie, of 40 years. They shared a unique love for one another. He was a proud father to his children; daughter, Joanne and husband Daniel and son, Thomas and fiance Mia. He adored his three grandchildren, Makenna, Riley and Brady. They were the light of his life.

Joe was a kind, humble man who will be missed by all and never forgotten.

Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Rita (McCaffrey) Connell; sisters Sheila and Mary Rose, brothers Packie, Jim, Hugh and Thomas James. Joe is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings in Ireland, Bernie, Mary and Frank; as well as his large circle of friends.

Lily (Elizabeth) Sheridan (née Crudden)

Drumcrow, Ballinagh, Cavan / Longford

Lily died on July 19, 2020, peacefully, surrounded by her family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford. She is predeceased by her brother Tommy and sister Nellie. Lily will be forever missed by her loving family, her husband Jimmy, daughter Catherine and son-in-law Tom (McManus, Soran, Ballinalee, Co Longford.) her adored grandsons Shane and Oisin, sister-in-law Mary (Boyle, Roscommon), nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,

Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church St, Longford, on Tuesday 21st from 6pm with prayers at 7.30pm.

Margie Smith (née Clarke)

Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Cavan

Margie Smith (nee Clarke), late of Tunnyduff, Bailieborough Co. Cavan. Died 20th July 2020, peacefully, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her son Liam, brothers Hugh, Paddy, Brian and sister Susan. Sadly missed by her heartbroken family husband Phelim, sons and daughters Patricia, Rosemarie, Siobhan, Micheal, Philip, Emer and Karen, brother Sean, sister Kitty, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Remains will be removed from her residence this Tuesday morning, arriving at St. Brigid's Church, Knockbride West, for 12 noon funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, please donations in lieu to The Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care Team, care of any family member or funeral undertaker. House private, please. In accordance with government guidelines on gatherings and social distancing, Margie's Funeral Mass will be held in private for family and close friends.

Ellen Tully (née Hayden)

Castletara, Cavan / Carlow

Ellen Tully (nee Hayden), Castletara, Co Cavan and late of Bawnree, Co Carlow. Peacefully, at her home. Predeceased by her husband Tommy and son Bernard. Sadly missed by her loving family, Catherine, Mary, Margaret, Nora, Eileen, Tommy and Teresa (Australia), daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, her 28 grandchildren, sister-in-law Molly and extended family.

May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her home on Tuesday from 3pm until 7pm for family, friends and neighbours. Please adhere to social distancing rules. Removal on Wednesday to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Castletara, for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Formerly of Clones, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully, at his residence, after a short illness. Retired Detective Garda. Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Helena, sisters Vera and Sr. Maureen, brothers Richard and Desmond. Beloved husband of Imelda and loving dad of Ivan, Helena, Orla, Paul and Mark. Sadly missed by his wife and family, daughter-in-law Nessa, sons-in-law Peter and Francis, grandchildren Isabelle, JJ, Sophie, Jonah and Jamie; brothers Michéal, Vincent and Gus; sisters-in-law Catherine, Mary, Barbara, Breda and Mary; brothers-in-law Seamus, Aidan and Paul; nephews, nieces, relatives, former colleagues and a large circle of friends.
