Scattered showers and sunny spells forecast

Tonight rain will extend from the Atlantic, and with the “heaviest and most persistent” of downpours in Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster.

As the public at large continue to wonder where the summer went after lockdown, the forecast for today at least predicts more of the same- scattered showers with a mix of dry conditions and some sunny spells.

“Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees, coolest in the northwest in light to moderate westerly breezes,” says national forescaster Met Eireann.

Those showers are expected to become more isolated as the morning goes on, while edging into tonight, conditions will be remain mostly cloudy with rain returning, extending from the Atlantic, and with the “heaviest and most persistent” of downpours in Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster.

“Tonight will be mostly cloudy with rain, heavy at times, extending from the Atlantic. Minimum temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, increasing strong on Atlantic coasts.”
