Courthouse to #LightUp gold for childhood cancer

Its estimated that one in 300 children will be diagnosed with cancer before their 19th birthday.

The County Courthouse in Cavan Town is to light up gold this month to show support for Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

The Childhood Cancer Foundation runs the Light It Up Gold Campaign every year in September as part of International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Each year, iconic buildings and landmarks light up gold- the colour of childhood cancer awareness, to support the campaign.

Its estimated that one in 300 children will be diagnosed with cancer before their 19th birthday.

There are currently over 200 children under 16 in active treatment for cancer.

Treatments are harsh and can cause life-long side effects.

It is estimated that there are over 6000 adult survivors of childhood cancer living in Ireland.
