Gardaí warn of Revenue scam

Gardaí are once again warning the public to be aware of potential scams.

It follows an incident where a local businessman contacted Cavan Garda Station to report that he had received a call on his mobile phone from a person purporting to be from Revenue.

The call appeared to be from an '051' number and the caller “sounded credible” and promised a “substantial tax rebate” before requesting Visa card details.
