A black Carrera hybrid bicycle was taken from a house in Coragh View, beside St Aidan's Comprehensive school.

Two more thefts occurred in the Griffith Court area (Cavan Road) and one in the Bellamount View area (Monaghan Road).

“We would again like to remind people to lock their vehicles when parking outside their homes,” gardaí posted on social media. “It is also important not to leave articles of value in your car or van overnight as this makes it too easy for the opportunist criminal.”

Gardaí in Monaghan meanwhile are investigating a theft from a car parked at Latlorcan cemetery. The incident occurred Wednesday, May 5, and a dark coloured Seat Altea is believed to have been involved in the incident.

Some of the stolen property was recovered a short time later on the old Armagh Road.
