Funeral arrangements for Father Noel Boylan

Father Noel Boylan will be laid to rest tomorrow after details of his funeral arrangements were published by the Diocese of Kilmore.

Fr Boylan of Main Street, Kilnaleck, former Curate in Killargue, Kill, Teemore and Bruskey, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, peacefully, and in the care of his family and the staff of College View Nursing Home, Cavan.

He will repose at Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck, on Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm with removal to St. Patrick's Church, Kilnaleck, arriving at 7pm.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday at 11am, followed by burial in Mullaghboy Cemetary Bruskey (livestream https://vimeo.com/563420093)

A funeral Cortege will travel via Shannow and St. Mary's Church, Bruskey.

Members of the public are asked to adhere to social distancing at all times.

Due to current HSE guidance, the removal and funeral Mass will be restricted to family only.

Born December 19, 1939, son of Bernard Boylan and Gertrude Sheridan, Fr Boylan was ordained to the Priesthood on June 9, 1996.

A former GP in Virginia, he was first appointed as CC in Killargue (1996), and Bruskey in 2000.

He was later appointed CC in Teemore (2005) where he remained for five years before being transferred to Kill (2010).

In 2014 Fr Boylan was appointed Priest in Residence in Bruskey, before retiring in 2018.

His death is deeply regretted by his sisters Grainne and Carol, brothers Brian and Garry, sisters in law Patty and Agnes, brother in law Michael, nieces, nephews, Bishop Martin Hayes, Bishop-Emeritus Leo O`Reilly and his fellow clergy of the Diocese of Kilmore, extended family, neighbours, former parishioners and friends.
