Council review Golf Club mast application

The application also covers associated equipment at Cavan County Golf Club, Drumelis

A telecommunications infrastructure provider has applied to Cavan County Council to construct a mobile phone and broadband tower in Cavan County Golf Club.

Cignal Infrastructure Limited, with a business address at Sandyford Business Park, Sandyford, Dublin plan to construct a 30 metre lattice mobile and broadband tower with headframe carrying telecommunications equipment. The application also covers associated equipment and cabinets enclosed within a 2.4m palisade fence compound at Cavan County Golf Club, Arnmore House, Drumelis, Cavan.

Cignal, Ireland’s fastest growing provider of telecommunications infrastructure, rebranded to Cellnex, taking the name of the business that acquired it in September 2019. Cellnex Telecom is Europe’s leading operator of wireless telecommunications and broadcasting infrastructure. Cellnex say they will invest €60m to build up to 600 new sites in Ireland by 2026.

The local authority say they will reach a decision on the application by October 07.

The local authority are also considering an application by Ontower Ireland Limited to retain an existing telecommunications support structure together with associated ground equipment cabinets with fencing and access track at their site at Mountain Lodge Hill, Tievenanass, Mountain Lodge, Cootehill, Cavan. The planners expect to conclude this file by October 3.
