Free walk-in vaccine appointments continue

Walk-in vaccinations will continue today at Covid-19 vaccination centres in Cavan and Monaghan; while times and dates for the coming days have also been released.

Located at the Hotel Kilmore in Cavan Town, the Cavan centre will continue walk-in vaccination clinics today (Friday) September 10, from 1-7:30pm, for anyone aged 12 years and over. The appointments and vaccines are free of charge.

Walk-in appointments will also be facilitated this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, September 11-12, from 8:30am to 12:30pm. The time slots next week are Monday and Tuesday, September 13-14 from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Meanwhile, in Monaghan, the vaccination centre located at the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney, is operating walk-in vaccination clinics for anyone aged 12 and over from 9am to 5pm daily.

What do you need to bring:

If you are attending the walk-in clinic for your first vaccine and you are not already registered for your vaccine online, you will need to bring the following with you to the clinic:

- Personal Public Service (PPS) Number, if you have one;

- Eircode;

- Mobile phone number;

- Email address;

- Photo ID - that has your date of birth on it.

Operational Site Manager at Cavan CVC Aisling Duffy said: “Walk-in vaccinations for dose one and dose two for anyone over the age of 12 years will be continuing today, Friday, September 10th into next week. Under 16s must be accompanied. Please avail of this free service.”

Yesterday evening, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) notified 1,292 confirmed new cases of COVID-19.

As of 8am yesterday, 331 COVID-19 patients were hospitalised, 54 of which were in ICU.
