Gardai: People don't listen to warnings about drink/drug driving

Gardai are appealing for the public to consider the consequences of being caught drink or drug driving amid a number of arrests this weekend.

Six people were arrested by Meath Gardaí over the weekend for drink/drug driving offences according to Meath Crime Prevention who said:

"One was involved in a collision, two were reported by members of the public and the rest were pulled over by Gardaí on patrol. Some of these motorists are already charged and are before the courts, the rest will appear in court in due course.

"We regularly warn people that if you take drink or drugs and drive you are very likely to be arrested. You are very likely to lose your driving licence and possibly your job.

"But for whatever reason, some people just don't listen, please heed all the warnings."
