Man charged over fatal Clones crash

Gardaí issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward

A man in his 20s has been charged in connection with the fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Monaghan last week.

The man will appear before Monaghan District Court later this morning, Monday, September 27, at 10.30am.

The scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision, which claimed the life of a passenger in the car, a woman aged in her 50s, occurred on the Roslea Road out of Clones town in the early hours of last Monday, September 20.

Two men aged in their 20s and a woman aged in her 30s were also taken to Cavan General Hospital following the crash to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

In the wake of the crash Gardaí issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

Gardaí were particularly appealing to any road users who were travelling on the Roslea Road out of Clones and the Largy Townland area this morning between 4-5am and who may have camera (dash cam) footage to make it available.
