Maureen Dowd (née Cronin)

Latnadrona, Crosserlough, Cavan

Peacefully on 1st December 2021 in Cavan General Hospital, in the loving care of her family and the Staff of Surgical 1.

Predeceased by her husband Tom Dowd, her brothers Hugh P and Colm Cronin.

Maureen will be sadly missed by her daughters Anna and Tina, her son in law Donal Briody and her grandchildren Lauren and Ellie, her brothers Sean, Tommy, Andy and Michael, brother in law Mick Dowd, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, all her relatives, friends and neighbours.

Removal from her home on Saturday morning to arrive St. Mary's Church Crosserlough for funeral Mass at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. In accordance with HSE, & government guidelines please no handshakes or hugs when sympathising with the family.

Friends and neighbours are welcome to stand along the route to the Church while following Social Distancing Rules.

As a mark of respect Cronin's Ballinagh, will be closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, reopening on Sunday 5th December.

Nancy Wallace-Christou (née Wallace)

Derrylin, Fermanagh

2 December, 2021 peacefully, Nancy, widow of Paul and dear mother of Dimitris (Fiona), loving sister of Liam, Michael Malachy and Antoinette.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Rose Wallace and brother Patrick, Alliance Road, Belfast.

Remains will be leaving her brother Michael’s home Fortlea, Derrylin on Saturday morning at 10.30 am to arrive for 11.00 am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Teemore followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

House strictly private please.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing son and partner Fiona, grandson Frankie, brothers, sister and extended family circle.

Peacefully, at Our Lady’s Hospital, Manorhamilton.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Teresa, sons Francis, Michael & Kevin; daughters Fionnula & Pauline (Byrne); daughters in law, son in law, grandchildren, sisters Bridie (Mc Teigue), Carmel (Mc Grath), sister in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, & friends.

Funeral Mass in St Michael's Church, Glenfarne on Friday 3rd December at 11.00 am, followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.

Ellen Mary (Nellie) Small (née Tynan)

St. Albans, England and formerly, Granard, Longford

Died on the 05/11/2021, peacefully, at home in England.

Predeceased by her husband Christy. Nellie will be sadly missed and always remembered by her daughters Margaret, Christine, Elizabeth, Ellen and Anne, sisters Eilish and Sarah, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sons-in-law , nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass on Saturday 4th of December at St Mary’s Church Granard, at 12 noon followed by Christian burial in Granardkill Cemetery.

Funeral cortège will leave Smith’s Funeral Home at Barrack St. Granard on Saturday morning at 11.45am on route to St Mary’s Church for anybody who wishes to stand along the route as a mark of respect.

Emily Condren (née Sheridan)

Sallygrove House, Allenstown, Kells, Meath / Rathfarnham, Dublin

Formerly Rathfarnham. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family and caring staff in Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

Predeceased by her daughter Susie, parents Harry & Sally and brother Jackie.

Emily will be very sadly missed by her loving husband Paddy, her children Patrick, Tony, Joe, Brendan, and Emma, grandchildren Seán, Áran, Fíonn, Kodi, Torin, Aibidh and Olivia, daughters in law Susan, Nicola, Lisa and Debbie, brother Jimmy, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Funeral Mass on Friday morning at 10am in the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham. Burial afterwards in Mount Venus Cemetery.

Thomas (Tom) Hughes

Summerbank, Oldcastle, Meath / Mountnugent, Cavan

The death has occurred on Tuesday, November 30th, of Thomas (Tom) Hughes, Summerbank, Oldcastle, Co. Meath and late of Polleragh, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan (former caretaker of St Oliver’s Post Primary School, Oldcastle); suddenly, in the loving care of his family and the matron and staff of Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

Predeceased by his father Patrick, mother Catherine, brother Pat and sisters Eileen, Annie, Kathleen, Rita, Alice, Bridgie and Betty.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife of 54 years, M. B.; son Patrick, daughters Eileen and Olivia, grandchildren Peter, Orla, Eimear and Aoife, brother Jim, sister Teresa, son-in-law Oliver, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home in Summerbank, Oldcastle (A82 F6F7) on Wednesday, December 1st, from 6pm to 8pm and on Thursday, December 2nd, from 6pm to 8pm.

Removal on Friday, December 3rd to St Brigid’s Church, Oldcastle, arriving for 12 noon Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in local cemetery. House private on Friday morning please.

Late of Belfast and Nigeria, 2nd December 2021 peacefully in Dealgan Nursing Home, Dundalk.

Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Colette, brothers Dioraí and Dónall, sister Bairbre.

Remembered fondly by her sister Aedín, brother Rónán, sisters-in-law Lena and Alec, nieces and nephews Ciara, Mikkel, Iúl, Ultan, Róisin, José, Marieelena and Alister, extended family, her St. Louis Sisters and her many friends in Ireland and Nigeria.

In an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and in respect for Government Guidelines, there will be no public wake. Removal on Saturday morning (4th Dec.) to St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Patrick (Pat) Dowd

Drogheda, Louth / Latton, Monaghan

Patrick (Pat) Dowd, Grange Rise, Drogheda, Co. Louth and formally of Drumod, Latton, Co. Monaghan. 1st December 2021. Peacefully in his 92nd year surrounded by his family.

Patrick, beloved husband of Teresa and loving father to Margaret and Agnes.

Predeceased by his brothers John and Eamon.

Sadly missed by his wife and daughters, sons in law Andrew and Ronán, grandchildren David, Mark, Jane, Brian and Oisín, sisters Mary, Teresa and Bridget, brothers Benny, Michael and Liam, brothers-in-law-, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in Townley’s Funeral Home, Crosslanes, Drogheda on Friday evening from 4pm until 6pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1.30pm will be streamed live from Our Lady of Lourdes Church on www.saintpetersdrogheda.ie.
