It is with regret that we note the following deaths from counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Patrick (Paddy) Dowd

Lackenclare, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Patrick (Paddy) Dowd, Lackenclare, Ballyjamesduff, 29th of June in his 101st year peacefully in the loving care of his wife and nursing staff at Virginia Health Care Centre.

Beloved husband of Kathleen. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, sisters Mary (May) & Nancy, nephew's, niece's cousin's, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

MAY HIS GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Reposing at home tomorrow, Thursday, from 3pm until 6pm to neighbours and friends. Walk through only please. House private at all other times.

Removal on Friday 1st of July to St. Joseph’s Church Ballyjamesduff for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Oldcastle Road.

The family ask people to please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing at all times. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Tony Rennix

Delgany, Wicklow / Kilnaleck, Cavan

Tony Rennix of Knockroe, Delgany and formerly of Kilnaleck, Co Cavan who passed away on Monday 27th June 2022 peacefully in St Vincent’s University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved wife Rita and son Frankie. Remembered with love by his son Eddie, grandson Jack, siblings Stephen, Eileen and Bernie, daughter in law Margie, brother-in-law Jack, sisters-in-law Patricia and Grainne, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

May he rest in peace.

Tony will repose at the William Doyle Funeral Home, Kilcoole from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday. Removal on Friday morning to St Anthony’s Church, Kilcoole arriving for funeral Mass at 10am followed by interment in Kilquade New Cemetery.

Jacqueline Alwell (née Bond)

Mac Curtain Street, Clones, Monaghan / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Jacqueline Alwell (née Bond). Mac Curtain Street, Clones. 29th June 2022. Peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross, surrounded by her beloved family. Predeceased by her husband Marshall, her parents Gilbert & Phyllis and her sister Sheila.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her brothers Peter & Richard (England), her sisters-in-law Ann, Mar & Irene (Merrin), her nephew Trevor (Merrin) & his wife Catherine, her relatives and friends.

Jacqueline will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Friday, 1st July, from 4pm until 6pm. Jacqueline's Funeral Service will take place in St. Tighernach's Church, Clones, on Saturday, 2nd July, at 2pm followed by burial in the parish graveyard.

Please wear face coverings when attending the wake & Funeral Service.

James (Jimmy) Fitzpatrick

Mullinamoy Far, Clones, Monaghan, H23 N236

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Fitzpatrick, Mullinamoy Far, Clones formerly of Fermanagh Street, Clones, and Crover, Aghabog, Co. Monaghan. Jimmy passed away peacefully at Oakview Nursing Home, Belturbet in the Care of the staff surrounded by his loving family Tuesday 28th June. Predeceased by his parents Ellen and James and his much loved daughter Mary and his brother-in-law Brendan Johnston.

Beloved husband of Frances and adored father of Seamus (Crover, Aghabog) and John Paul (The Downs, Mullingar), devoted grandfather to Peter and Matteo. Jimmy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, sons, daughter-in-law Kathy, grandchildren, sisters-in-law Kathleen (Val Cassidy, Derrylin) and Isa (Johnston, Dundalk), brothers-in law Jimmy (Mc Quaid, Clones) and Paddy (Tess Mc Quaid, Clones), cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and loved Jimmy.

Jimmy will repose at the family home (H23N236) today Wednesday and again tomorrow Thursday from 4pm to 8pm, (family time at all other times please), with removal on Friday morning at approx 10.30am (1st July) to arrive at the Sacred Heart Chapel, Clones for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver's Cemetery, Clones. Family time on Friday morning please. Wearing of face coverings would be appreciated. Family flowers only please.
