Increase in home completion figures welcomed by TD

New figures from the CSO on home completions for 2022 so far have shown a significant increase from the previous year.

Fianna Fáil TD for Cavan and Monaghan, Brendan Smith has welcomed the news.

Deputy Brendan Smith commented, “It is so heartening to see that the level of home completions for 2022 has already outstripped the figures for the whole of 2021.

“There were 20,807 completions in the first nine months of 2022; which is greater than the total for the whole of 2021 (20,560).

“This represents a year-on-year increase of 32.7% when compared to the same period to Quarter 3 in 2021. Also, the 7,544 homes completed in Quarter 3 of this year is up 62.5% on the 4,643 completed in Quarter 3 in 2021.”

The Cavan and Monaghan TD added: “These figures show that the Housing For All scheme is having a positive impact and Fianna Fáil in government is committed to tackling housing and increasing substantially housing supply in all areas."
