Mickey and Minnie Mouse joined in on the fun at Virginia’s Annual Christmas Fair last year.

Fair for the family

Get into the Christmas spirit with Virginia's annual Christmas Fair, which is set to take place December 3 in the Virginia Show Centre.

The event is sure to tickle the fancy of all the family with various products from food, crafts, decorations and everything in between on sale.

“It’s always a nice day,” says manager of the Virginia Show Centre, Anna Reece-Murphy. “A lot of it is home made crafts, christmas puddings, christmas decorations, even sushi,” she says.

“We’re hoping to have a children's entertainer that day as well so that will occupy the kids and mum and dad can go around and have a look at things and we’ll hopefully have a couple of other nice things.”

Unlike most Christmas fairs around the country in the coming months, Virginia’s craft fair will be an indoor event.

“It’s indoors, it’s heated and the reason it was so successful last year is because Covid was still quite a big thing then and we were able to keep doors open and it has a big high ceiling so people felt comfortable coming. Obviously this year it will be a bit more relaxed.

“Last year we had 55 stalls, our arena is quite large so we could go with even more than that.”

Visitors can also treat themselves to some of the fantastic food and drink and food trucks, which will be busy on the day.

“We would have a few spaces outside as well like the food and coffee truck will be just outside the entrance.”

A table at the event costs only €15 and have been very popular so far with many fantastic stalls lined up. Anyone interested in having a table at the event are advised to drop into the Virginia Show Centre or call them on 0498547517.
