Appeal after man (60) found dead in Broomfield

Post Mortem to be carried out

Gardaí continue to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man at a residential premises at Knockreagh Lower, Broomfield, Co Monaghan, this morning (Thursday), December 1, 2022.

The body of the man, aged 60 years, has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post mortem is due to take place tomorrow morning (Friday), December 2, 2022. It will be conducted by Dr Linda Mulligan, Office of the State Pathologist. The results of the post mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

The house remains a crime scene and the examination of the scene continues by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Investigations are ongoing.
