Fog and rain will give way to sunny afternoon

Tonight will be foggy with patches of drizzle

Mostly cloudy this morning with some mist and fog patches and just occasionally bright spells. Patchy light rain and drizzle will continue to move southeastwards over Ireland.

Bright or sunny spells will follow over Connacht and Ulster by noon, along with a few light showers, and will extend further south and east through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in light westerly or variable breezes.

Tonight will be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells along with some patches of mist or fog. Cloud will increase in the west and north overnight with patchy drizzle developing on coasts. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees with a touch of frost in places with light to moderate southwest breezes.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle at times. The best of the brighter intervals will be in the southeast in the morning. More persistent rain will develop in the north and west in the afternoon, tracking southeastwards across the country through the evening and early night. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with moderate southwest winds increasing fresh westerly later.
