Ballyconnell enhancements completed by summer end

Streetscape enhancements planned for the town of Ballyconnell will be completed by the end of summer.

Work has already begun on spending the €100,000 allocated under the umbrella of the Town and Village Renewal Scheme to transform the visual appearance of premises within the west Cavan town.

Under the 2022 Streetscape Enhancement Measure €2.6 million was made available to improve the visual appearance of our urban streetscapes, with Ballyconnell selected by Cavan County Council to benefit.

A total of 35 premises within the town of Ballyconnell stand to have works carried out, to include green enhancements, painting and murals, and the replacement of signage, canopies and lighting.

The council has until August 31 to have the works completed.

A spokesperson for the local authority informed: “Cavan County Council was allocated €100,000 to transform the visual appearance of premises within the town of Ballyconnell, making it a more attractive place in which to live, work or visit.
