St. Mary’s Brass & Reed tune up for NY Parade

Members of the Kingscourt St. Mary’s Brass & Reed Band treated an audience including members of Cavan County Council to a concert ahead of the group of local musicians taking part in the New York St Patrick's Day parade tomorrow.

The event took place at the St Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Woodside.

Members of the Kingscourt St. Mary’s Brass & Reed Band travelled to New York earlier this week.

As is tradition, a delegation from Cavan County Council has also travelled to New York, led by Cathaoirleach John Paul Feeley.

Both will take part in the parade scheduled for tomorrow, the largest of its kind outside of Ireland. They will particpate along side members of the Cavan P&B Association New York and also a delegation that includes members of Post 15 IUNVA Cavan who earlier today visited the UN Headquarters as well as Ground Zero.

A total of 45 UN veterans- members and partners- will join the parade down the famous 5th Avenue.
