It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Rose Marie Brady (née Donohoe)

Terenure, Dublin / Cootehill, Cavan

Rose Marie passed peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Tallaght University Hospital, in the presence of her loving family. Predeceased by her dear daughter Sandra. Rose Marie will be very sadly and greatly missed by her beloved husband Des, sons Stuart, Darragh and Mark, daughter-in-law Susanne, Darragh and Mark’s partners Kate and Sallyann; cherished grandchildren Ethan, Elsa, Espen, Rosie, Lucy and Ellie; her brothers Tom, Hugh P. and Seamus (Australia), nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

The family would like to extend a special word of appreciation to the staff in St Vincent’s University Hospital for the care and kindness previously extended to Rose Marie during her illness.

Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home, Willbrook Road, Rathfarnham D14 W029 on Wednesday evening (March 22nd) from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Removal on Thursday morning to the Church of St Pius X, College Drive, Terenure for Funeral Mass at 10am which may be viewed on the parish web camera at https://www.stpiusx.ie/st-pius-x-tv followed by burial in Bohernabreena Cemetery. House Private.

Seamus Kitson

Percy French Park, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Seamus Kitson, Percy French Park, Ballyjamesduff, Tuesday, March 21st peacefully, in the loving care of his family & the staff at Lisdarn Unit, Cavan. Predeceased by his loving wife Brigid (Brady), his brothers Michael-John & Martin (Nicky), sisters Patsy, Nuala, Claire & Teasie. Seamus will be sadly missed by his son Shane, daughter Aisling, daughter in law Marian, son in law Damian and his adored grandchildren, Fiachra, Brayden, Ceola & Muireann, his sister Margaret Kelly, Cavan, brother in law Andy (Brady), all his nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours & many friends.

Seamus will repose at Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan Wednesday the 22nd from 5pm to 7.30pm. Funeral cortège leaving his daughter, Aisling's residence, Thursday morning arriving at St. Joseph's Church, Ballyjamesduff for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Joseph's Cemetery on the Oldcastle Road.

House strictly private at all times please.

Ann McEntee (née Kerley)

Greaghlone, Magheracloone, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Ann McEntee (née Kerley), Greaghlone, Magheracloone, Co. Monaghan, suddenly at her home, 20th March, 2023.

Predeceased by her parents John and Maisie Kerley. Ann will be sadly missed by her loving husband John, son Padhraic, daughter Grainne, sisters Philomena, Bernadette & Mary, brothers Seán & Peader. Deeply regretted by her mother-in-law Nora, father-in-law Seán, Padhraic’s partner Aimee, god-daughter Niamh, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunt and uncle and all her family and friends.

Reposing at her home (A81 FP78) on Wednesday, 22nd March from 4pm to 8pm and on Thursday, 23rd March from 4pm until 8pm. Ann’s funeral cortège will travel from her home on Friday, 24th March, to arrive at Patrick's Church, (The Rockchapel) Upper Magheracloone for Funeral Mass at 11 am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brigid McFadden

Leitrim, Tyholland, Monaghan / Falcarragh, Donegal

The death has occurred of Brigid McFadden, Leitrim, Tyholland, Co. Monaghan and formerly Ballyness, Falcarragh, Co.Donegal. Tuesday 21st March peacefully at St. Ann's Nursing Home, Ballybay.

Pre-deceased by her husband Joe McFadden. Brigid will be lovingly remembered by her sons Daniel & Paul (Heidi) and daughter Margaret Oliphant (Paul), grandchildren David. Ciara, Aidan, Ethan & Niamh, her sisters Sarah & Madge, brothers Edward & Joe, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Brigid's remains will repose at McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80 on Wednesday from 4pm - 9pm and at her home in Ballyness, Falcarragh, F92 R2F6, on Thursday from 2pm - 10pm. Brigid's Funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 1pm at St. Fionán's Church, Falcarragh followed by burial at Gortahork Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to The Alzheimer's Society, Monaghan, c/o Peter McMahon, McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale or any family member.
