It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Rev. Msgr. John A. Clarke

Saints Peter and Paul RC Church Turnersville, NJ08012 and originally Monery, Crossdoney, Cavan

Rev. Msgr. John A. Clarke passed away peacefully at the age of 89, on Friday, March 24th 2023. He was born to the late Thomas and Susan (nee Reilly) and was brother of the late Annie, Rita, Mae, James and Tom. He was loved by many nieces and nephews, 25 grand nieces and 15 grand nephews. Msgr. Clarke Graduated from Multyfarnham, a Secondary School. During his time there, he was captain of the football team and won the championship in 1952. He was also captain of the Leinster team the same year. He was ordained on June 13th 1959 at St. Patrick’s Seminary by Bishop Keogh. St. Patrick’s is the oldest English speaking seminary in the world.

He was appointed Pastor of Saints Peter & Paul on March 15th 1988 and remained there until his retirement on October 20th 2008. Msgr. continued to serve the people of the Diocese for 12 more years after his retirement.

Msgr. John’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11.30am in the Church of Saints Peter & Paul RC Church, 362 Granttown Road, WashingtonTwp. on Thursday, March 30th 2023, with celebrant Most Reverend Dennis J Sullivan. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Chews Landing.

Peter Pritchard, London and late of Galbolie, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan died Saturday, 25th March 2023 in London after a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his brother Eugene.

May he rest in peace.

Deeply regretted by his wife and best friend Joan (nee Flanagan), daughters Dawn and Laura, brother Patsy (Galbolie) and sister Sr. Kathleen (California), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and large circle of friends.

Henry Mc Carville

Drumcar Road, Castlethomas, Dunleer, Louth, A92 KON7 / Threemilehouse, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Henry Mc Carville, Drumcar Rd., Castlethomas, Dunleer, Co.Louth A92KON7 and late of Blackraw, Threemilehouse, Co Monaghan. Peacefully on Monday, 27th March 2023, in the loving care of the staff of Moorehall Lodge Nursing Home, Ardee and surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved sister Mary. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Vera, sons Enda (Sinead) and Fergal (Michelle), daughter Rhona Duff (John), grandchildren Katie, Lucy, Kelly ,Conor and Shauna, sisters Margaret and Carol nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

MAY HIS GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Remains reposing at his residence, until removal on Wednesday morning to St Michael's Church, Corcaghan H18E284 arriving for 12 o clock funeral mass. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Henry's funeral mass can be viewed live on the following link:
