It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie.

Gretta Fay (née Brady)

Carn, Crosskeys, Cavan

Peacefully, at her home, in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her parents Philip and Veronica, her husband Sean, son Danny, brothers Andy, Michael and Tony, sister Kathleen and sister-in-law Eileen. Lovingly remembered by her sons Philip, Seamus, Noel and Berty and daughter Breege. Sadly missed by her brother Berty Brady, sisters-in-law Anna and Eileen Brady, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the residence of her son Seamus, Kilnacor, Crosskeys H12FN27, tomorrow, Wednesday, from 2pm, until removal on Thursday to arrive at St. Matthew's Church, Crosskeys, for Funeral Mass at 11am, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Susan Wiggins (née Walker)

Ballinacree, Oldcastle, Meath / Westmeath / Cavan

Susan Wiggins (nee Walker) Ballinacree House, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, passed away Monday, 27th March 2023, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness bravely borne, in the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin. Much loved wife of John. Predeceased by her son Mark. Sadly missed by her son David and Sara, grandsons Christopher and Alex, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, family and many friends.

Funeral service in St Bride's Church of Ireland, Oldcastle at 2pm on Thursday, 30th March, followed by burial in Loughcrew Graveyard. House strictly private. No flowers please, donations, if so desired, to the Irish Cancer Society care of the undertaker or any family member.

Ruth Moffett (née Wallace)

Lisaginny, Castleshane, Monaghan

Peacefully on Monday, 27th March 2023, at home.

Resting at her home.

House strictly private please.

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Derek and brother John. Ruth will be dearly missed by her loving family, her daughter Ann, son Wallace, daughter-in-law Florence, also her treasured grandchildren Jonathan (and his wife Allison), Andrew (and his wife Alex) and Hannah (and her husband Andrew Hamilton), great-grandchildren Seth and Emily, sisters Evelyn (Shortt) and Meta (Knox), nieces, nephews and the entire family circle.

Funeral service on Wednesday, 29th March, in Ballyalbany Presbyterian Church, Monaghan, eircode H18 HH95, at 1pm. A private burial will be held afterwards in Creevagh Reformed Presbyterian Churchyard, Ballybay. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Ruth, if so desired to the National Council for the Blind (Cheques made payable to same) C/o Conly Funeral Directors, Ballybay, Co.Monaghan or any family member.

Eveline Murray (née McCluskey)

Aughnaseda, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Peacefully at home.

Predeceased by her son Aidan, her parents Mollie and James Eddie, and her brother Eamon.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Brendan, children Sinéad, Marc, Darren and Aoife, daughters in law Pauline and Olivia, son in law Ben, grandchildren Aislinn, Orla, Aifric, Aidan and Conal, sisters Betty, Kathleen, Vera and Ann, brother Hugh, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her home on Wednesday (29/03/2023) from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday (30/03/2023) from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. House private at other times please.

Removal on Friday (31/03/2023) at 10.30 a.m., arriving at St. Macartan’s Cathedral. Monaghan for funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, Latlurcan.
