It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Jean Marshall McConnell (née Nelson)

Drumshinney, Arva, Cavan

Jean Marshall McConnell (nee Nelson). Drumshinney, Arva, and formerly Dunnington, York England, and Holytown, Scotland. Thursday May 11th 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her sisters Mary and Chrissie. Very sadly missed by her loving husband Tom, son David and daughter-in-law Dympna, son Nelson and partner Jo, youngest son Bruce, grandchildren Roisin, Thomas, Sorcha, Orla, and Aoife, and extended family and friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at her residence this Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm. Jean's cremation service will take place at Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Cavan on Friday, 12th May, at 6pm, with cortege leaving her home at 5pm on Friday. House strictly private at all other times. No flowers please; donations in lieu to Camphill village Trust via the undertaker.

Kenneth Maxwell

Knockboy, Tyholland, Monaghan

It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ken Maxwell, on the 24th April 2023. He was 90 years old.

Ken passed away in Winnepeg Canada, formerly of Knockboy, Silverstream, Tyholland, Monaghan. Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Joan (Winnipeg), his father Marcus, mother Margaret and brother Trevor Monaghan and brother Meredith London.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Sharon (Tim) Luchuck, Dave (Sandra), Ron, Shelly (Craig), Lamothe and Bryon (Erin), grandchildren Ryan, Scott (Ashey), Kristen (Jordy) Mirwaldt, Kevin (Kayla), Kesley (Robert), Carly, Sydney and Emma, great-grandchildren Paisley, Ella,Avery,Nora and Owen. Kenneth will be sadly missed by his brothers Noel (Violet), Ivan (Freda) and Vernon (Elsie) Tyholland, his sisters Betty Dollingstown, Mavis (Jim) Bangor, Northern Ireland, Iris (Brian) Isle Of Man, sister in law Joan Maxwell, Monaghan and Georgina Backman, Winnipeg, his many nephews and nieces.

Caleb Faughnan

'Blackthorn Cross', Shercock Road, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

Caleb Faughnan. 'Blackthorn Cross', Shercock Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. With deep regret, we wish to announce that Caleb died by suicide on Sunday, 7th May 2023, leaving behind his parents, David & Mary (née Sheridan. Nafferty, Carrickmacross) and his only sibling Jacob.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

HOUSE STRICTLY PRIVATE.

Caleb will return to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, for prayers of reception, where he will lie in repose until the following day for Requiem Mass, followed by his burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Carrickmacross. Dates and times will be published as soon as possible.

No flowers please, donations in lieu, if desired, in Caleb's name, via donation box at the Church or directly to Pieta House.

Henry Myles

Lisnagalliagh, Lisnalong, Monaghan, H18 AP98

Formerly Darkley, Shercock and Main St., Ballybay. Peacefully on Thursday, 11th May 2023, at home. Henry will be dearly missed by his loving family; his devoted wife Anna, sons Kevin (Martha) and Aidan (Edel), daughters Anna-Marie ( Gary), Teresa (Ciaran) and Marina (Jim), his treasured grandchildren Damien, Niamh, Declan, Barry, Cliodhna, Aaron, Alanna, Abraham, Cathal, Elijah, Joshua, Coragh, Isaiah, Adam and Levi. Also his 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the entire family circle.

Reposing at his home on Friday, from 2pm until 9pm. Removal on Saturday, 13th May, at 11.30am, to arrive at St.Mary's Church, Latton, eircode A75 YY09, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in St.Patrick's Cemetery, Ballybay. House private on Saturday morning please.

As a mark of respect, Ballybay Tyre Centre will be closed on Saturday.
