It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Mick Egan

1 Kilmore Estate, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

The death has occurred of Mick Egan, 1 Kilmore Estate, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan, 31st of May, suddenly but very peacefully at home, with his beloved wife Kay by his side. Predeceased by his Daughters, Michelle and Baby Teresa, brothers, Liam, Desmond, Christopher and John. Sisters, Ann, Catherine, Patricia, and Noleen. Remembered and missed by his beloved wife Kay, daughters Clare (David), Donna (Gary), Carolann (Alan), Tina (Steven), sons. Michael (Louise), Martin, David (Elaine), Richard (Pamela), step-daughters, Marcella, Lorraine and Shirley, step-sons, Ivor and Jason and the large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren he and Kay shared.

May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Mick will repose at his home (A82 WK88), on Friday, June 2nd, from 5pm to 8pm, and again on Saturday, June 3rd, from 5pm to 8pm. Leaving his residence at 11.15 approximately on Sunday, June 4th, arriving for Funeral service in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan at 12pm with cremation to follow.

The Egan family would like to thank the wonderful neighbours, fire fighters and ambulance crews that came to Mick's aid. We will be forever grateful to you all.

Joan McEntee (née Maxwell)

2 Rathmoyle Park Keady, Keady, Armagh / Monaghan Town, Monaghan

McEntee (née Maxwell) (Keady, Co Armagh) June 1st 2023 peacefully in Greenpark Nursing home Joan RIP. Beloved wife of the late Noel and cherished mother of Aileen, Eimear and the late Peter, Colm and Noel RIP. Dearest Mother in law of the late Yann and sister of the late Eilish (Curran) and Roma (Ryan).

Her remains will arrive at St Patrick's Church, Keady today (Friday) at 6pm for overnight repose in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Funeral mass on Saturday at 10am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her loving daughters, grandchildren Louise, Cameron and Tara, brother James, son in law Grant, daughters in law Clare and Denise, nieces nephews and the entire family circle and many friends.

Martin Mc Govern

No 1, Clonkeencole, Clones, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Martin Mc Govern, No 1 Clonkeencole, Clones, Co. Monaghan, Thursday 1st June, peacefully in Cavan General Hospital in the care of the staff and surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Hughie and his brother Noel.

Beloved brother of Doreen (Tracey, Abbeylara, Co. Longford), Liam (Aghafin), Hugo (Mary, England), Raymond (20 Clonkeencole, Clones) Kathleen (Wetherspoon, America), Pauline (Sean Quigley, Clones), Christine (John Mc Cormick, Clones). Martin will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his sisters, brothers, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and by all who knew and loved Martin.

Martin will repose at the Martin's Family Room, Newbliss, H18C962 tomorrow evening Friday from 4pm to 8pm. Removal from Martin's residence No 1, Clonkeencole, Clones on Saturday afternoon at 2.40pm to the Sacred Heart Chapel, Clones, for 3pm Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver's Cemetery.
