Summer Reads celebrates 21 years!

Cavan County Council’s Library service produced its first summer reading list in 2004. Who would have thought that this list would have been the start of a tradition in our local libraries? Twenty-one years later and Summer Reads is still a much-anticipated fixture in our reading calendar.

A list of 40 recommended titles is created by library staff and, with a mix of fiction, non-fiction and leabhair Gaeilge, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. These titles are available to borrow from all nine of Cavan’s library branches throughout the summer months – perfect for anyone looking for a quick pick to read on their holidays!

Summer Reads 2025 will be launched across Cavan Library service on June 11, 2025.
