The Anglo-Celt was out in Cavan town to find out how people feel about the new proposals from the government to establish a National Asset Management Agency (NAMA). Changes to the draft legislation were published this week revealing how exactly the so-called bad bank will take over €90bn in bad loans from the country's biggest property developers. The government has said the legislation is necessary to get credit moving again to small businesses, while some commentators have criticised the long-term valuation model being applied to properties caught up in toxic loans.
