Cold-hearted oil thieves strike Shercock centre

Gardaí in Bailieboro are appealing to homeowners to be vigilant as incidents of home heating oil theft are on the rise. The call comes after the Resource Centre in Shercock had its tank with 1,000 litres of oil inside stolen some time between the evening of Tuesday, January 31 and the morning of Wednesday, February 1. Pauline Clarke McEneaney, manager of the resource centre, stated that they had discovered that the oil was missing when their oil indicator, which was plugged into the wall, was flashing "empty".
