Missing Kinawley man found dead
A man who had been reported missing in Co Fermanagh last night has been found dead near his farmhouse home. Police and fire crews in the North had been conducting a search of a property in the Upper Tully area of Kinawley on the Cavan-Fermanagh border, in an attempt to trace the whereabouts of a missing elderly man. The 89-year-old man was reported missing at 12.05am, during the early hours of Wednesday morning, September 26 by neighbours who told Police they had not see their elderly neighbour for several days and he was concerned for his whereabouts. A full search of the farm property was undertaken, with Police searching the area during darkness and were assisted by the fire service, using thermal imaging equipment. Nothing was found overnight and on Wednesday morning a police helicopter was brought in. At around 10.15am, police on the ground found the man deceased in a field near his home. Police say they are following a number of lines of inquiry and are currently in the process of contacting family members.
