High beef prices are not akin to 'property bubble'

The beef market is looking positive in the long term for Irish farmers - that was the message of Irish Farmers Journal livestock editor at last Thursday's event held to mark Bank of Ireland Agri Enterprise Week. There wasn't even standing room as the crowd, which numbered about 150, spilled out of Carnaross livestock market eager to listen to the panel of agri-experts. The impressive panel included Minister of State for Agriculture Shane McEntee, Justin McCarthy of the Journal, Ray Doyle of the Irish Cooperative Organisation Society and Michael O'Neill of Glanbia.
