What's on for the weekend

Wondering what to do for the weekend, check out our what's on event guide. Among the highlights are Bagatelle in the Imperial, supported by local band 'Priorland'; Mike Denver at the Country Club and the Mullagh drama festival, along with a fashion show in Cootehill and a Mr & Mrs fundraising in Arva.

Bagatelle

They may well be best known for their hit single 'Summer in Dublin' but, for Irish Pop group, Bagatelle, this weekend it will be a case of Winter in Cavan as they grace the stage at the Imperial Bar & Nightclub. One of the longest-running groups on the Irish pop/classic rock scene, Bagatelle were formed in Bray in 1978 and, next year, will celebrate four decades of success. Other popular hits include 'Second Violin' and 'Leeson Street Lady'.

They will be supported by up-and-coming local band 'Priorland' - a five-piece original harmony band with two members from Cavan, two from Meath and one from Limerick. Four of the gang met at college in Dundalk in the past two years - Thomas Hughes, Arva and Calvin McManus, Cootehill; Conor Bogue from Limerick and Davie Boyle from Athboy, Meath. Earlier this year, they were joined by Conor Kavanagh also from Athboy on drums.

The boys are proud to be supporting Bagatelle this Friday night, having recently supported Aslan there.

Tickets are €20 from the Imperial, doors open at 9pm for show at 10pm.
