Daniel gets behind The Wee Daniels

A group of talented young performers from County Cavan, 'The Wee Daniels', have sailed through to the next round of Ireland's Got Talent.

And to put the cherry on top, Irish Country star Daniel O'Donnell is backing his very own mini-tribute act all the way.

The lads won over the hearts, and votes, of all four judges on last Saturday night's live show.

The Wee Daniels are: Rian Sheridan (9) from Ballinagh, Finn Dolan (9) from Killeshandra, David Rubotham (9) from Ballyjamesduff, Jack O’Sullivan (12) from Cavan Town and Robert Johnston (13) from Ballyjamesduff.
All students of The Performance Academy in Cavan Town, they put on a great show for judges Louis Walsh, Michelle Visage, Jason Byrne and Denise Van Outen.

The Cavan lads did their special version of Daniel O’Donnell hit, ‘I just want to dance with you’.

Even though Michelle hadn't a clue who Daniel O'Donnell was, she said of 'The Wee Daniels': “I absolutely loved them!”

Former Big Breakfast star Denise Van Outen fell in love with the Cavan lads, describing them as “a breath of fresh air”.

Comedian Jason Byrne said the group's moves were fantastic. He also joked: “You're going to kill your parents in 20 years when you look back at this!”

Pop guru Louis Walsh hinted that Daniel might even like to take 'The Wee Daniels' on tour with him but warned they might “upstage” the main act.

And the main man himself is behind the Cavan lads.

Rian told The Anglo-Celt that appearing on the popular prime time show is a great experience.
“I’m not nervous at all and I performed with the other members previously in Performance Academy.”
Rian, who met Daniel O’Donnell in the Hotel Kilmore, says he and the country Hall of Famer “got on well – we had a cup of tea and a nice chat”.

Ireland's Got Talent continues on TV3 and Virginia Media One, on Saturday, at 7.30pm.
