Man killed in Ballyjamesduff car accident

A man in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle accident in the Ballyjamesduff area this morning. The L3026 Road from Cavan to Ballyjamesduff remains closed following the accident outside Crosskeys and diversions are in place.

Bailieborough Gardaí confirmed to the Celt that Fire Services and paramedics attended the incident but, sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A Garda Forensics Collision team has yet to complete its investigation.

It's understood that the deceased man (55) is from County Cavan. His name is not being released until such time as his family have been contacted.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
